A new roleplaying game (pen and paper)
Can Evil be Stopped in Time for Tea?
I betatested their rather unique character generation last spring on GothCon, and I found it highly addictive. I bought the main rulebook and the Life Board about two weeks ago, and I can recommend them both.

So, does crossposting work?

Data loss... So the boot disk was buggered. I managed to get my firefox profile out, but before getting anything else off, it broke down. Stupid of me not to get everything off as quick as I could, I suppose.
I'll do some more attempts at reviving it, but it's not like I'm an expert in the area.

*phut* Seems like my main computer broke while I was in the archipelago yesterday. The screen was showing a BSOD when I got home, and after some poking, the most likely culprit is the motherboard. Can't detect any SATA devices, will only fire up the graphics one time in three at most...
Time to get a new computer, I suppose, this one was almost four years old (with a two year old graphics card). Hopefully I haven't lost my data...

A weekend of cards and dice ...and boards, figures, markers and other things associated with board games...
This weekend, 30 of us journeyed to Hotell Gästis in Varberg to have a long weekend of boardgaming. I went into the hotel at noon on friday, and didn't step out until around 17 on sunday. I think my total tally was at least ten different games played, three or four of them new to me.
The most different game was Space Alert, where you play a CD track for about ten minutes, during which you try to decide your movements (program things somewhat similar to Roborally) while a robotic voice announce different threats that arrive. After the track is over, you then resolve things to see what actually happened. Of course, things seldom go as planned...
Unfortunately, I only had time to play it twice late on sunday and then the owner had to start the trek home.
Anyway, once more a very successful and funfilled weekend in Varberg.

Music Meme. Why not? Meme stolen from rjw76
Step 1: Put your iPod/media player on random. Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. Step 3: Let everyone guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Bold the songs when someone guesses correctly. Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is cheating.

More fever. This morning, I'm at 39.0°C. I'm guessing I won't be going into work this week after all.
I wish I knew what I have...high fever, a slight cough and a little sniffly, that's all. No congestion, I have no trouble breathing through my nose at all.

You give me fever... Or at least, someone did. 38.5°C last night, and 40.0°C around midnight now. The latter one is artificial, though, due to too much clothes and blankets when I was sleeping.
I guess I got a bug at GothCon.

Skimmed milk^H^H^Honey Last friday, someone withdrew 250 euros five times from my account, using an ATM in Parma, Italy. After the fifth time, my bank's automatic systems (I assume) cancelled my card, so they couldn't empty the account completely. Still, a total of 1250 euros hurt the account a bit...
Nice little christmas present, although a tad late.
The most likely scenario is that someone put a card reader and camera on one of the ATMs here at work, and that I failed to notice it. I try to check for things like that, but I guess I must've missed it.
Today I went to the bank, and I'm getting the money back today, probably. Pretty fast work by them.

XML-RPC Frontier::RPC2 is pretty well-written. I needed to add a nil-type, and it was a breeze. I just wish it had had a more obvious name so I could've found it earlier...I've spent several days trying to find a decent XMLRPC-module for perl (or modify an existing one).
